Golden Hole and Josephine Falls

Well it was a lovely Saturday morning so we headed off to Golden Hole and Josephine Falls with a maths teacher and his family.

At the Golden Hole, there was a tree branch stretching halfway across the water hole. It's probably nearly a 30 foot drop. Some mad folks were jumping off it. I wasn't one. But Joseph was! I still can't believe that he did it. Just look at the height of it !! There's Joseph in the grey trunks and black top...preparing to leap

He did resurface, very elated with his heart pumping at ten to the dozen!

And then we headed off to Josephine Falls. These waterfalls are at the foot of Bartle Frere - Queenslands highest mountain at 1622m - with pools, diving spots and a slippy slidey rock slide... It was terrific ! Here's the children about to slide....

Next weekend (mid November), we and several other families are hoping to climb Walsh's Pyramid. We've gotta set off at about 6am to avoid the midday heat. It's 922m, so we'll see how we go.
